Neighborhood Skateboards

Neighborhood Skateboards

Neighborhood was a deck company founded by Julio De La Cruz after parting ways with New Deal in around 1993. Neighborhood had a heavy Latin vibe and Los Angeles theme, mostly due to the artwork and direction of Mark Gonzales' cousin Ernie Mendoza. In 1996, Neighborhood introduced Especial as a sister deck brand, but was fairly short lived lasting only about a year. In the later 1990's, Neighborhood moved under the umbrella of Climax Distribution where Julio also launched Stamina Clothing. Julio eventually tried operating Neighborhood independently of Climax but went under as the industry shrank.
