Justin Herman Plaza, also known as Embarcadero or EMB first started getting skated in the mid 1980s. Embarcadero was home to the C-block, the 7 stair(which was actually only 6 stairs), the wave, the fountain gap, the Gonz gap, and more. The brick plaza had rough ground and rougher concrete ledges, but became the mecca of skateboarding in the early 1990s. Unfortunately, security shut the spot down by the mid 1990s and basically demolished the entire plaza in 1999.
